The Electric Eels Swimming Club has now been in existence for over 30 years and in August 2003 incorporated and become a standalone entity to the Zillmere State School P & C Association.
The Electric Eels are a non profit organisation and do not receive any financial assistance from the School or the School P & C Association. However we are continually active in raising funds for the benefits of the club, the school and all members of the community who frequent the pool. The pool facilities were first built in 1974 and the majority of the pool equipment has been upgraded through the fund raising efforts of the club.
The Swim Club currently has approximately 80 active swimming members aged from 5 years to 14 years. The Club’s membership base has grown by 20% over the last 3 years with the majority of members and prospective members generally coming from Zillmere and surrounding suburbs such as Geebung and Aspley.
One of our primary focuses at the club is to leverage our swim programs to enhance the social development of children from an early age and provide them with invaluable life skills which will benefit the community as a whole.
